Stroke Index
What do You think the stroke index of the River Course holes should be?

Chris, I don't necessarily strongly disagree with any of the stroke index ratings but I do hear a lot of feedback from various members when playing. The most frequent "criticism" voiced is that all the par 3's are very long and unforgiving. Hitting these greens in one shot is difficult and having hole 5 as SI 18 leaves most players with very little chance of making par. The other SI that I would question is hole 17 - it's previous SI was, IMHO, more reflective of the difficulty of the hole. Mike. |

RE: Stroke Index
I thought it worthwhile to include the average difficulty of the holes, taken from a years worth of Medal Tournaments:
Rank: Hole-Scoring Av. to Par 1: 10-2,38 2: 11-2,15 3: 9-2,11 4: 6-1,88 5: 14-1,87 6: 17-1,86 7: 4-1,84 8: 12-1,77 9: 1-1,50 10: 13-1,45 11: 8-1,44 12: 7-1,38 13: 2-1,35 14: 18-1,34 15: 16-1,24 16: 3-1,11 17: 5-1,07 18: 15-0,84 The Par 3's (except for 12 where the water plays a major role) are the easiest holes!
